Schola Cantorum of Eau Claire, a 12-voice choir from Wisconsin dedicated to early music, is excited to present “Mystery & Mirth: A Spanish Christmas” as part of the 2019 Madison Early Music Festival Fringe Concert Series. This selection of music from renaissance Spain celebrates the mystery of the Virgin birth, and the human aspects of the Christmas story. Works by Flecha, Guerrero, Lobo, Morales, Padilla, Victoria, and the contemporary Spanish composer Javier Busto.
