New site: almost there!

As you can see, my website is undergoing some face lift. I’m learning as best as I can to make it a WordPress theme, and then hopefully I’ll also be blogging more frequently, writing about Madison music events, composing, and music in general. Stay tuned! What do you think about this new layout?

SCI Conference at K-State

I’m in Manhattan, Kansas this weekend attending Society of Composers Inc’s Region VI conference. I worked with three talented undergrad singers on “Sparrow” tonight, wish them the best tomorrow morning! Tonight’s concert featured Thelema Trio from Belgium. Interesting instrumentation: clarinet, saxophone and piano. And what virtuoso performance!

Benefit for Haiti tonight

Come help UW School of Music raise money for Haiti! Tonight at 7pm, at The Crossing, you can donate for a good cause, and enjoy great chamber music. Among the many ensembles that are performing, Eliza’s Toyes will be singing selections from Palestrina’s Canticum Canticorum, and Thomas Ravenscroft’s “Tosse the Pot”. $5 suggested donation at the door.
